
Romagosa Dermatology Group knows the importance of giving back to the community it serves and beyond. Drs. Rick and Yvonne Romagosa have participated in multiple skin cancer awareness lectures given to the residents of Martin County communities. They are also involved in multiple free skin cancer screenings and are both participants and sponsors of the Florida Keys Health Fair where hundreds of Florida Keys residents who cannot otherwise afford health care receive comprenhensive health screenings. This is actually where they met in 2001.
Our staff is also involved in multiple health related community service activities such as fund raising car washes and sponsored 5K runs such as Relay for Life, which is a cancer fundraiser.
Rick Romagosa, M.D.
Dr. Rick Romagosa is board certified in dermatology. Dr. Romagosa completed a fellowship year in Clinical Research through the Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery at the University of Miami School of Medicine where he received his medical degree, graduating with Research Distinction. He remained at the University to complete his internal medicine internship and dermatology residency. During his final year of residency, he was chosen to be the chief resident. Dr. Romagosa has participated in numerous research projects and publications and is the recipient of a number of prestigious research awards and scholarships. He is a voluntary Assistant Professor in the Department of Dermatology at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. He is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Medical Association, American Society for Mohs Surgery, Florida Medical Association and the Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery.
Yvonne Romagosa, M.D.
Dr. Yvonne Romagosa is board certified in dermatology. She received her medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine. She continued at the University for her internship in Internal Medicine before completing one year of clinical research in dermatology at the University of Miami Hospital. She completed her dermatology residency at the University of Miami Department of Dermatology and Cutaneous Surgery, where she served as chief resident in her final year. She participated in numerous research projects and is published in peer reviewed dermatology journals. Dr. Romagosa is in the process of applying for a voluntary faculty position at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, Jackson Memorial Hospital and the Miami VA Hospital. She is a member of the American Academy of Dermatology, American Medical Association, Florida Medical Association, Florida Society of Dermatology and Dermatologic Surgery and the American Society for Mohs Surgery. She is pending membership for the American Society for Dermatologic Surgery and the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgery.
Dr. Eckersley is a board certified dermatologist who graduated from Temple University, School of Medicine and competed his medical internship at the Madigan Army Hospital in Fort Lewis, Washington. He was a USAF Flight Surgeon at the Paine Air Force Base in Washington. He then moved to San Antonio, Texas, where he completed his dermatolgical residency at the Brooke Army Hospital. He practiced dermatology at the Eglin Air Force Base in Florida and went into private practice in 1972 in Stuart, Florida. Dr. Eckersley is a member of the American Medical Association and the Florida Medical Association. He is a fellow of the American Academy of Dermatology and has membership in several medical societies including the Florida Society of Dermatologic Surgeons and the Florida Society of Dermatolgoy and Dermatologic Surgery.
